Towards the Stage Adaptation

of

'The Night of Baba Yaga'

A story of queers seeking freedom in a world that watches, judges, and controls them.

UK edition: Faber&Faber
UK edition: Faber&Faber

Project Overview:

Empowering people from diverse backgrounds feels more urgent than ever.

We create:

a visually intense narrative,

spatial sounds,

surveillance  &  liberation,

and

embodied performance.

This project contributes by adapting a Japanese novel, The Night of Baba Yaga, winner of the Crime Fiction in Translation Dagger 2025.

The Night of Baba Yaga explores society as a panopticon - governed by surveillance and control.

This is a celebration of those who exist outside rigid categories of gender, love and identity.

It is a story of resistance - not through heroism, but through survival, ambiguity, and refusal to conform.
